The run will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Dick Pond Athletics-Elmhurst.
The run is 3 miles through scenic downtown Elmhurst.
Walkers are also welcome.
If you are a walker please come a bit early as the walkers leave around 6:50 p.m.
The run finishes at the store.

AWARD-WINNING FILM HONORS JOE NEWTON, YORK HIGH SCHOOL COACH
 |
York High School students and alum will have plenty to cheer about this summer. Their Boys Cross Country team has been named the most winning high school team in any sport in America with 26 state Cross Country titles. Not only that, but the amazing achievements of the York team under the tutelage of their coach of 50 years, Joe Newton, have been documented in a film, The Long Green Line. The film will be screened on Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17 at 4:30 pm at the York Theatre, 150 North York Street, Elmhurst. Tickets are $6.00 per person and are available on line at classiccinemas.com or the theatre box office. A third screening is scheduled for August 30 at 4:30 pm. Based upon demand additional screenings may be scheduled.
The Long Green Line documents the 2005 cross country season at York High School as Newton’s last year coaching and their attempt at a 25th title in 50 years. This particular season a record 221 athletes joined the York team to learn from Coach Newton. “Always do your best”, “be on time” and “it’s nice to be great but far greater to be nice” are a few of Coach Newton’s mantras.

Inspired by Coach Newton’s methods to positively impact the lives of children, Matt Arnold, the film’s Producer/Director and Brady Hallogren, Producer/Director of Photography, created this special documentary. Debuting at the 2008 Lake Forest College Film Society Film Festival in April, The Long Green Line took top honors a Best Feature Length Documentary. The movie has been chosen as the opening night film at the Running Film Festival in Oregon July 3-5.

It displays the passion, integrity, compassion and leadership it took to develop the top high school cross country program in America. It shows the love that he had for all his runners from the state champions to number 200 in the pecking order. He reached them all."
